Thanks for joining us Finnegan and congratulations on the release of the pretty epic EP, ‘THE SPEED OF DREAMING.’ How would you say the EP showcases your musical growth and experimentation?

This was one of the first times that I’ve made a musical project without the help of a band and on top of that I was in a foreign country. I was trapped with my self and my thoughts so I think I got the most genuine expressions from myself that I possibly could. I believe that this past year has broke my shell of co-dependence in a lot of ways and the music reflects that.

How did the collaboration process between Love Ghost and the Mexican artists and producers for this EP come about, and how has it impacted the overall sound?

I was living in Mexico City at the time as I’m focused on building my audience down there in Mexico. I had been coming back and forth to Mexico City since 2022 and had built a lot of connections especially on the management side. I believe it impacts the overall sound of the EP by giving it that slight Latin flavor. Some of the music reminds me of that show ‘VGLY.’

Can you elaborate on the thematic inspiration behind ‘THE SPEED OF DREAMING’ EP?

A dream is a succession of images, ideas, emotions and sensations that typically occur when someone is asleep. It’s an involuntary yet profound experience that humanity has still not come to fully understand. When Oneirology and human spirituality intersect is when you get the human soul. I feel like figuring out your soul is a journey we all try to take but don’t always succeed in. I think that for me personally creating this piece of art was important to knowing my soul and my “speed of dreaming.”

What impact do you hope ‘THE SPEED OF DREAMING’ will have on your listeners?

Honestly as long as it has an impact I will be happy. Whether it’s positive or negative is secondary in my opinion. I just want people to be affected by it. One of my worst fears is to create something that’s forgettable.

Following the success of your previous singles, how do you view ‘THE SPEED OF DREAMING’ EP in the context of your overall artistic journey?

I think it was necessary for me to create this EP with the people I did and where I did to prove to myself that I could grow and wouldn’t always have to rely on others to get things accomplished fully. The next music I have coming is something I am very proud of and in order to get to a place where I could articulate my feelings and thoughts this throughly, I needed to push myself outside of my comfort zone for a period of time.

Looking ahead, what are Love Ghost’s aspirations and goals for the future, both in terms of musical endeavours and broader career milestones?

I mean I would love to be able to go on tour, play bigger shows and overall just inspire lots and lots of people. That’s pretty much the end goal for me. Make art that I’m proud of and that’s entertaining and also be able to inspire a wide group of people.

OK, and finally, a fun question… If Love Ghost could choose one song from ‘THE SPEED OF DREAMING’ EP to be featured in a movie, which track would you pick and what genre of film would it suit best?

I would probably choose ‘BE NOT AFRAID’ and I’d want it to be a multi-general film, kind of like ‘Trainspotting.’
